Todd, I've read (heard) that alternators don't like dirt, water etc before. Can you explain in dumb neophyte (me/my) terms what the difference is between a stator or whatever the Teryx now has & an automotive type alternator. I assume both are belt driven off the engine & with the help of some kind of voltage regulator recharge the battery in the event it is in a state of discharge, or if fully charged, then provide power to run accessories without "dipping into" the battery's power. Hope my question is understandable to you & others out there.
