Default Teryx Oil and Filter Change

Click on the attached PDF Document. This document can be opened using Adobe Reader, and can be saved or printed.

Below are a list of oil filters that should fit the Teryx. I tried the longer (3.1/4") Filters, but they would not fit due to clearance of the radiator hose. So I only listed the 2.5" long filters.

Each of these oil filters have 20 x 1.5mm threads, 14psi by-pass valve, anti –drain back valve, 2.3” O.D. gasket, and are approximately 2.5” long. I have not personally tried each of these filters, so this is for information only. Each filter should be compared to the factory filter prior to installation.

I alway like K&N because they weld a nut to the top of the filter which makes filter removal a breeze!

I use mobile one oil & filter...

The best way I found to get the old filter out (for those with large hands) is to jam a screwdriver through the side of the old filter and use that to rotate the filter around.

Has anyone tried a filter wrench?

I don't have one small enough...

And besides, I have plenty of screwdrivers lying around, would have to spend some $$$ for another filter wrench!

Exclamation

The oil is measured with the cap screwed down or just resting on the opening? I ask because the Artic Cat is measured at the resting level - not screwed down. Their rear diff oil level is measured with a 8" zip tie bent at the part where the tie starts to zip, yep just past the pointed part at about the 1" mark, per their shop manual.

Default removal of drivers side seat

I just purchased a 2008 Teryx with mastercraft seats and 4 point restraint attached to horizontal tubing behind the seat. I want to check and replace the oil. How do I easily remove the seat without taking the restraint system apart? Are their any tricks?
