Rotella 5w 40 wont hurt anything, but I run it only in my Cummins and Mobil 1 0w 40 or 10w 40 depending on outside temps, in my Kawie's with a Mobil 1 filter (M-108 fits the Teryx and M-108, M-110 fits the Prairies). There is a clearance issue with the M-110s on the Teryx. Any synthetic is good, I still change mine often, oil is cheap compared to engine rebuilds.

One of the members on here should be able to give us the full break down on oils, I think it's "az_amsoil" Synthetics has its pros and cons, I've used it in my boat motors with good success, and they seemed to run cooler. I am still ignorant in "conventional Vs. synthetic" in some applications (like ATV and RUV's), and wish I was more informed. I know in some ATV's they say not to - since engine and drive gears share same oil...like Arctic Cat I think?

I know those ATV's and motorcycles with a wet clutch don't like the energy saving type oils with friction modifiers (causes some severe clutch issues), but I don't think the Teryx has that as much of a worry ... I could be wrong though.
Maybe more will jump in on this issue. |

I am leaning towards the Mobile 1.
Taking it up the Nevada & Idaho border soon for hunting and it will be a lot of slow, steep and rocky terrain to run in. Day temps will be close to 80 and morning temps at freezing. Think the 10 - 40 will be the way to go. |
