Default Busted Top... What top is best for stock cage?

Went into the woods and into a tree on one of the uphill hillclimbs last Wednesday. Worst part was the limb that jabbed me in the ribs. Oh well, wife did not notice fortunately.

What top would you guys get for the stock cage? I hope to get a custom cage at some point, but probably need to get by with the stock a little while longer and need shade. Soft tops are out, they would not last on the ATV trails I ride. Please help.

Anyway, here is what I did to the stock top. They are cell phone pics, sorry for the quality.

I busted mine like that with 1 hour on the meter. From your video, and how and where you ride, I'm surprised it lasted that long for you.

I've been without a top. Take it off and ride awhile without it. I did, and just may leave it that way.

There is a place called online metals that has all kinds of cool materials to make a roof out of if you are the do it your self type.

They have aluminum, stainless, plastics, etc. And they have reasonable shipping.

Just another option.

Will, I am ashamed of you riding that poor plastic top into a limb! I can tell you this....the best part about this is that your wife did not see it (rib incident), she'd take your keys for a week, probably wouldn't be able to do any more vids for us too! I like the smooth tight fitting tops I've seen on some peoples on this site, aluminum or stainless steel, maybe in you woods, you should find titanium. Believe me...I got a couple holes in mine too, I will probably go with one like this one on eBay..

I would want one that the water can't puddle on...sometimes I wonder...just what in the hell Kawasaki was thinking about on some things...those water puddles on the roof can be real drenchers!

You can get Diamond plate at most metal supply dealers. I'd have to check on the price, but if you keep the stock cage for awahile, you can make one like that last post I would think for under 250.00.

When you are ready to get a new cage, contact Tim at:SDR Motorsports

Tell him your on TeryxHQ!!

Yea the recall did not really apply to this SNAG on the tree. It was pretty violent and also messed up the hood plastic on the right side. Big crease and no longer do the holes line up on the side. I can zippy tie it and give it hell for a while.

SDR is awesome, but the pricing + shipping for me is a killer. I don't mind paying for something nice, but all the website prices look astronomical. Is their stuff that good?
