Default 20 Hour service $190 Huh?

Got 2 Questions.
Does this price sound right?
Will I void any warranty issues if I do the service myself?

Just got of the phone with local shop and that is what they say it will cost for the first service on my T-rex, they say it will take between 2 to 2.5 hours, yes I am quite capable of doing everything, I just thought I would be safer than sorry, by letting the dealership that sold it to me do it, to avoid any issues if they arose.
Any advice?

My dealer had a paper that I had to sign stating that if I didn't bring mine (V-Force and Brute Force) back in in 10 hours, they could void my warranty. They were both $125. Don't know if that is legal or even right, but I took them both back.
I'd do what I did. Call and ask what all they will be doing and put a piece of scotch tape somewhere hidden on the parts that they are going to be working on and check the tape before you leave the dealership after they are done to make sure they did what they said they would do.

Well from other places I have talked to...that is cheap.

If I understand things correctly, in your manual you will find items that Kawasaki says should be done by a technician, while others are acceptable for you to do yourself.

Let me do some more looking into it for you...I know you can change your oil, fluids, etc yourself without voiding a warranty, however, when it comes to carb adjustments, valve adjustments, belt adjustments, etc I am just not sure.

That is cheap...maybe I am just cheap...I think that is about 70 bucks to high.
By the way I have already changed my oil and filter, I did that after 2 days about 4 hours of use.

Sorry let me rephrase that considering the word cheap is relative.

Compared to what I have heard others have paid, and what my invoice stated (I had a service plan included with mine) that cost is cheaper than that.

My service was invoiced at $255 and I have heard other paying close to $300 and over.

I got my dealer to throw in the 20 hour service in on the deal of my Teryx that I just picked up. I knew nothing about the belt service until I found these Teryx forums. I am glad I found these forums as they helped me ALOT in the purchase of my new ride.

Every dealer is different, it is not always that the dealer is crappy...I am sure Kawasaki gives them a list of requirements that some choose to follow word for word while others are comfortable bending them.

Not sure that the dealer would care if you had your 20 hour service or not...however, if you had a major issue, Kawasaki may request documentation that this was done. If you cannot provide that information, they may choose to reject warranty claims.

I am not saying they will, just something to think about.

If you do it yourself, how would you document it, especially that you inspected something?
