Firsthand experience, got the MAX 4500, and it has worked flawless for me. Pulled some pretty big trees out of paths with it, not to mention a few lost ATV's, and yes I did have to pull my T-rex...just once...out of a mud marsh. I have had it under water and under mud and it didn't affect it so far. Good winch...bad cable - I do not believe it is aircraft grade, it kinked and bound and frayed some after about 10 uses, so I bought the bluesteel rope to replace it, and I like it much better. So if your going to buy, my advice is get the rope instead of cable, but that is only my opinion.

I have had several winches in the past, all of them have been Warns and I've never had a problem with them, but I happened to see Motoalliance's website and they had a 4000lb winch on sale, so I thought I'd try one, so far it's done fine.
I was impressed by how well it was built, it seems it is a copy of a Warn, maybe not as of a high of a quality, but none the less, dollar for dollar a good buy.
