Didn't know where to post this question.
Directly behind both seats, in the corners, between the bed and cab, just above the gas tank on one side and just above the battery compartment on the other side. There are these sheilds, plastic(rubber) black in color. They are attached to the interior area and a steel black plate is mounted directly below them. My bed does not tilt, so they might be different on other models. They appear to be some kind of heat guard or water shield? ???? Do not appear to protect anything? But they are two piece, rubber on top and a steel plate underneath? What the heck are they for? Any thoughts? Please help. Need to know, the drivers side is in the way of a project. |

I believe they are only there to help keep mud and dirt from collecting behind the seat, my bed did'nt tilt either, and I added the tilt kit to it. I would'nt see any reason you could'nt remove them.
