My top end was at 69-71 mph.
After the Whisper Core install, never got above 54 mph, I immediately lost the quick neck snapping response also. After much re-jetting and setting it “NEVER” came close to performing well, I would sacrifice some performance loss, but not this much.
They are just too restrictive for my engine. |
You definitely have balls to try it Tee. No lie man, I know what a PITA it is to rejet.
Call Murray and see if he wants you to try another set they make up at the shop. He would probably exchange them for the set you tried.
I have to be honest and say that when a whole package that does it all for the 09 is out Ignition and the works is when I build my 09. I just don't have the time anymore with my increased workload to keep working on the 08, jetting takes to much time. I admire you for trying, and if you are interested in testing further, I would bet money Murray would work with you on making something more applicable to the 840 kit as I am sure a lot of people will be doing them on 09's once the electronics catch up. The flow is what the quiet cores need to be able to handle so in my simple mind, I would think it would not matter an 08 or 09 to test prototypes.
