Default questions about 840 kit

I have 09 teryx with msd, muzzy, dalton od plate, going to do clutch work possibly vforce john stage 3 build have been thinking about egine kit, don't know much about any of them, have talked to Todd at Hunter Works about a standard bore with cams. Could any body tell me what the 840 kits include, who makes them, what kind of hp they produce, what if any extras i would need to go with them besides what I already have, what is the rough cost of them, and reliability and longevity of the engine. thanks

My std bore kit comes with the pistons, stage 2 cams and valve springs for $850 retail,$765 members cost. The 840 is just as reliable with 100% no problems just like the std bore kit. The 840 comes with pistons, stage 3 cams, bigger head gaskets and valve springs for $920 retail,$820 your cost. The 840 has to be bored and re-nicasiled and that cost $500 more if you want us to do it. The std bore we did for Crowdog on here gained about 90% more hp to the rear wheels and the 840 was 135% on the one done for this site as their projuct. Both of these were 08 carb models done on Weller's dyno. Dasa Racing has built a 840 09' and is about to do the std bore also to have all the maping ready to go for both. They also have all the injectors and air box needs for you too.As far as longevity,no one know because the Teryx has only been out for two years. To date I have sold 420 of these kits, some have been on the Brute Force since 05' with no problems, and there where kits sold for the Teryx even before they came out. So what I am saying is there are Teryx's out there from day one with my 840's in them and are still going strong.

I won't start a riot.

The issue you will have is you have a MSD and a 09 Teryx so you would either have to buy a kit that has a matching map or have whatever you install tuned by someone who is really good with the new MSD and there are only a handful of those people in the US at this time but that number will grow over time.

I personally like a stock bore kit and will be doing a map for a standard bore kit soon. It most likely will be the only kit we do a map for too.

I was already thinking the same thing Todd about the mapping and was thinking you had told me that you probally would not be doing a big bore. I was just wondering what some of the people with the big bores had for pros and cons. Todd your kits that you will be selling are fundys?? with my setup what kind of horsepower would I see.

I had the FST STD Bore Kit in my 08 and it was a very nice power increase, I think I am going to go like you with the 840 kit this time, WTH. I was actually considering the Muzzy's or the FST, maybe try the Muzzy's this time.

How much do you like the power Teee? Is the 840 really all that and a bag of chips on the trails or hill climbs? I would think low end torque is what I am after so it should be.

You won't be disappointed in the 840 magellan... I'm the guy that picked up your old 08. We raced them when we first got them back and my bike would put 1.5 bikes on yours out of the hole but your bike would come back and pass on top. At first i blamed it on my heavy ass bi/tri claw tires but i still knew better for as many standard bore/big bore brutes i've done... Took the carbs a part and i reckon i got in a hurry and my front cyl had a drilled jet and my rear one had the 155 I had back when the bike was stock with a few holes in the lid. After that there was no pulling back on top.

Standard bores are all the power you need but the torque and the power the 840's make is what get the adrenaline going.
