I am going to be taking my new Teryx up to Springerville in september for the big ATV event they have going on up there. They recommend jetting for 7000-9000 feet.
Is this something that is fairly easy to do? how long does it take? What is the best brand to buy? How much fine tuning needs to be done? So far performance wise I have a CDI box and exhaust tip Thanks for any input |

I would agree on the Hunterworks kit and Todd seems to be a great guy. On another not we spent the 4th of July at Munds park not quite sure what the elevation is but I noticed no power loss with the Teryx at all. We were going to try to make the Springerville trip this year but just have way to much going on. Take lots of pics for the rest of us.

I'd have to agree...with the hunterworks kit, installed mine yesterday, took about 2 hours, I am sure now that I've done it, I could probably do it in...about 1 hour or less next time around. The hunterworks kit supplies you with a multitude of jet settings, so you can change them around for different applications. I would almost think that just changing altitudes, you could benefit from just the TPI valves and not the full jet replacement, but I am NO means an expert on the subject. Once you do the jet replacement, you can't go back to original settings because you drill a hole in part of the diaphram. I guess a person might be able to put a small screw in that hole (?) to go back to original...again...I am no mechanical genius (obviously) but the jet replacement was a pretty easy task. I mean no disrespect to other vendors, but I am 110% happy with the hunterworks kit and would not hesitate to work with them again. If you go to the website that sells this kit, there is a installation video, watch and you'll kinda know what you are getting yourself into. Hope this helps, oh here is the link.

First off thanks for the positive comments.
Mike, If all you want to do is jet for that elevation, you could just add a TPI valve that you would open as you went higher to let more air in which would lean it up. A total solution would be get our kit and buy a third TPI valve and do what is mentioned above. The reason is opening the airbox even with one TPI valve might have issues with losing vacuum in the intake therefore the slides might not work correctly so the lighter springs in the kit would take care of that. Besides adding the kit will give you a boost in performance. |

What is a TPI valve?
I went on Hunterworks website and could not find a carb kit listed. How can I fine tune the carb in Phoenix (1100 feet) so it will run good when I get to my destination, Springerville (7000-9000 feet) Once you have done the jetting how long does it take to switch back so it will run good again in Phoenix. Thanks |

Mike,
The carb kit is the very first item on the Teryx page on our site. Changing elevations is a hard one. I wish I had the opportunity to test at different elevations but it is flat around here. My recommendation has been to add a third TPI valve to our kit so you can leave it closed at lower levels and open it up as you go higher to add more air which will lean it out as you go higher. |

I'm a big fan of the dial-a-jet if your going up to altitude and back down frequently. My quad has it and it take me 5 minutes to be jetted at 8000ft. and another 5 minutes once I'm back on the desert floor.
Basically, you jet your carb for the highest altitude your gonna ride. Install the dial-a-jet and when you go back down to sea level you adjust the system to provide more fuel as your pulling in more air. Eliminates lean conditions. |

I was looking online at the Dial a Jet, it looks pretty interesting. Has any body done it on their Teryx.
Anybody know of a shop that installs and/or sell them in the Phoenix area. Is there any performance increase? (I know there probably would be at the higher elevation) |
