Default TT Racing in my Teryx!

We had a local TT race at AZ Speedway (or Speedworld Speedway, not sure what they're calling it these days) this past weekend. We race quads & dirt bikes there. There's a 1/5th mile & 1/4 mile oval and the TT track that uses the 1/4 mile oval and the infield. There's one small roller jump on the infield too. Flattrack tires are required when running the ovals but they allow knobby tires on the TT track. I asked the track owners if I could run some laps in my Teryx after the races and they said no problem. WHAT A BLAST! It was the first time I'd driven it, other than blasting around the Glendale streets. NOW I know why everybody & their brother has a SxS! I race the Pro ATV class on a very built KTM 525 quad. That night I was running 32 second (slower than usual) times on my quad and was clicking off 39 second laps in the Teryx! I was told the inside rear wheel was about a foot off the ground coming into the turns and would bicycle just about every corner just a little. I didn't even notice, except for one time it was WAY up on the bike. The next TT race is May 24th. I'm going to check with the track owners and see if they mind (if I can find others who want to try it) if we run some laps during intermission. I didn't post anything like this on any other SxS boards (mostly because I don't go to any others) because I don't want a bunch of crazy racer types out there thrashing and bumping into me and tearing up the track. So, if any of you local peeps want to try sliding around a TT track with your Teryx, let me know and I'll see if I can set it up for the next race.
Sorry no pic's, the GF couldn't make it. Next time FO SHO!

Have you thought about racing at the down and dirty tour. I think they are going to have sidexside racing there. It is May 3rd I think at speedworld. I am going to attend but not race. Here is a link 2008 Down N Dirty Off-Road Tour :: Season Opener May 3rd :: Phoenix, AZ :: Speedworld MX Park

That sounds like a blast, I may not run mine as it depends if it is in pieces or not, however, I would not mind going just to meetup with everyone! If you could let us know what the track owner says, maybe some others will get the opportunity to try it out.

Keep us posted my friend!

It is funny you mentioned how much fun you had in your Teryx. I have always had quads and used to tell my Rhino buddies that I could never have a side x side and not have a quad. Well after getting my Teryx, I have had to eat my words, cause now I do not even remember having a quad

I would LOVE to but, I wouldn't be able to do the window nets, 1/2 doors with Side Impact Bars and 4 point harnesses by then.
But my goal is to race one of these events with the Teryx. Just might take a little while to get the parts. I've always liked Lonestar parts so I'm trying to hold off until they get some stuff made but it's tough to be patient.

Default Teryx TT Track racing June 21

I finally spoke to the track owners and what they said was, if we could get 3 or more (SxS's) he would give us our own race. That would include about 5 practice laps, an 8 lap heat race and a 12 lap Main. It's $45.00 to race but first time racers get the $10.00 off that members get. So $35.00 for the first time. Spectators are $10.00 which gets you in the gates along with a pit pass. If you have 3 or more spectators in ONE car then it's $7.00 per person. The $35.00 for the race entry includes the rider/driver pit pass. You can see more details at ARIZONA SPEEDWAY ASSOCIATION.

It really is a good time. The TT Quads and bikes put on a great show. Knobby tires are allowed so if you have a dirt bike or ATV and want to give it a try, this weekend is the time!

I will be there with my Teryx, anyone else?

You guys got me to thinking about our local cirle track and Meridian Yamaha is a sponsor already anyway. We could have a blast!!!

I would make our Teryx up for that and use our 700 Rhino for the GNCC and TG Challenge racing!!
