Smile Installing Amp/ Winch

I'm putting a amp in my machine for the radio. does anyone know what wire coming out of the ignition is the Acc. wire? I need a hot wire that is hot when the vehicle is running and dead when in the off position. Also, has any one thought of putting an extra battery under their seat beside the factory battery? Will the charging system keep up? Sounds like a good idea to run a big winch???

Use the hot wire on the 12v plug in on the dash. DON'T use any wire in the ignition.

No the charging system will not keep up but if you have to use two batteries use a battery isolator and put accessories on second battery.

If your not goin crazy on the radio or lights 1 (good) battery should serve you well, I have 4500 winch, radio, back-up lights, led interior lights, hid headlights, 2-4''hid driving lights and my oddesey 925 serves me just fine. i have run all night with radio and all lights on and stopped for cooler checks radio on teryx not running for hr or so and she always fires right over every time. The stock battery is a pos and will let you down without any notice.

I had the same issues with my 08, stock battery took a dump. I ended up putting on an after market fuse block and ran all my accessory's off that. New battery and fuse block from Black Rhino, problem solved.

Same here, Optima D34M, Custom fuze/relay/pwr dist panel, Black Rhino guage pod, switches, temp & voltage guage.
If I run all 6 HIDs, headlights, XM, & winch up/down all night plowing snow, the voltage drops to 12v and goes down from there. I just drive around awhile w/o the HID's and it will go right back up. Still put the charger on it afterwards though...
I probably should get an aftermarket stator/regulator setup, but I haven't found one that seems reliable yet. If anybody knows of one, let me know!

Here's some pics:

Oh, forgot, there is a hot keyed wire (brown) that runs along the front of the dash by the firewall. It has a connector in it that I just made a Y w/ some wire & plugged into it. That runs to a relay on the panel that feeds two more separately fuzed circuits.
I need to re-draw my wiring schematic & post it sometime.

Yeah, those are sweet, I just wanted the one for the cupholder hole so I could mount switches.

THANKS!

I still have work to do on it, such as shorten some wires to exact lengths then shrink tape all the connectors.
I put in extra relays for expansion and it's all ready to go w/ switches connected to them.
It has taken awhile to do, but mostly because I kept changing the design.
I see one flaw still, and that is where the ground bus is located. I'm gonna put a small plastic cover over it in case a wire were to rub through.
I'm also gonna put mesh loom on alot of the hot wires for added protection and then secure them down.

I need to take the time and do a "how to" thread...

The 2010 makes access sooooo easy to the dash.

Anybody got a lead on a good 500w stator/regulator setup??
