Question performance chip

I was looking at these performance chips off of ebay and they say you get up to 30hp and 40 more torque. For $40 they look like a scam but the reviews are very high. I know they won't give you the stated increase in numbers, but I was wondering if anybody has dyno tested these. It's still a steal if there only give you 3hp. There are five different kinds.
New and used teryx chip, Automotive on eBay.ca

Do they also sell bridges?
$40 for 30 hp. One can only dream.
You could pull the exhaust baffle and get about 3 hp and take the $40 and buy a bigger exhaust tip to make it look better.

These chips don't work. It's probably just a resistor ($3 at Radio Shack)that alters the signal from a sensor. Most likely, they are tricking the coolant temp sensor to read cold. This puts the engine into continuous warm-up (choke) mode, delivering more fuel. People tried this in the late 80's when EFI became common on cars. It didn't work then either.

I put one on just to see if it would do anything and there was a slight improvement to throttle response and acceleration, it hooks into the o2 sensor so it did not fool computer into thinking engine temp was still cold and rad fan worked as normal. Budget didn't allow me to put in a programmer at this time, say what you will for $30 and a $35 exhaust tip I am satisfied for now.

It splices into the air sensor that goes into the airbox.
