Snapped Axle or broke rearend
Went on a trail ride yesterday with a guy in a new Teryx. He hit several mudholes and then either snapped an axle or took out a rear end.. Only one wheel would spin in the back. He run it for another 10 or so miles (hitting mud holes and climbing around) without seeming to get worse. What's your verdict and has anyone else had this happen??? It was stock and if a problem, how are you guys keeping them together with the BIG horsepower.

I have not been in this rear diff yet but most likely inside the rear end it is splined on the solid piece both axles fit into on each side. I would think his axle broke right on the end in the diff.
I don't think I would have continued to ride with one axle spinning and not the other.

I wouldn't have continued on either, but there 2 contributing factors..... There 2 Rhinos and a RZR there and BEER. But I'll tell ya that the Teryx went everywhere on 3 legs as well as the others and even made it through one hole that the RZR and 1 Rhino didn't.

So has the rear end been torn down? What is the final outcome?

check to make sure the axle didn't just pop out of the splines.

I broke one at the outside cv joint. all stayed together, but it was twisted out, luckily the boot didn't tear or Kawasaki said they wouldn't have covered it.
