Frozen choke

Hi All

This weekend after a cold night (-8C ) I woke to find that I was unable to move my choke knob at all it was frozen solid! Without the choke I was unable to start it obviously!!

After lighting two fire near to the teryx and waiting for the sun to warm up and after a 3 hour wait, it came unstuck!!

Anybody else had this? Is it normal? Can it be fixed???

Use WD-40 on the cables and carb to keep water from freezing them up before riding in harsh conditions.

Never the frozen cables, however, the choke on mine will not stay out...if I pull the lever out, it goes right back in like a scared turle

Funny you say that dp, mine does the same thing...there must be an adjustment that we need to attend to.

If my cable froze though...(IMO)...I would not use WD 40 in the cable line, that stuff eventually turns to thick crappy muck that will only make matters worse, just use motor oil..one drop at a time.

Wondering if the carb modifications have something to do with it, I think mine started doing this after new jet kit install, vacuum or pressure must be pulling choke back out....so it is Todd's fault.......I think I can deal with the small problem (not that it is an issue), just wondering if there is a way to adjust the cable somewhat.

Mine has always done it, however, seems to be more now after the 840 kit went in and everything was rejetting etc.

Not too worried about it cause it still starts fine, might mention it to the dealer though.
