Odometer question.

I just got my 2008 LE home Friday and was wondering if anyone knows why the odometer reading on mine doesn't register the correct miles. It said it had 5 (assuming miles) on it when I loaded on the trailer to bring it home. Drove it a few times around the shop and down to a buddies house that lives maybe 500 yards away and it said 9. I know I didn't even drive it but maybe a mile or two at the most. The speedo reads in MPH so I wouldnt think that the odo reads in kilometers, but thats what it seems like. Any ideas? By the way, I love this forum and thanks.

Accurate

So everyone thinks their odometers are correct and accurate for miles?

do you know if there is a way to adjust the odo? Do you know what it reads from? I wonder if it reads off of the clutch or cvt system and mine has been reading wrong because it is new and the belt may be slipping.

Hmmm that is the first I have heard of this...are you sure it is not reading .9 as in nine tenths of a mile?

Size of tires matter too , I believe. Your not driving around on lawnmower tires are you?

I do know the speedo works off the speed sensor off the drive shaft.

It has the factory tires and wheels. I just got it Friday night. Seems to be getting better. Odo shows 32 miles now. Took it for a spin down the road tonight and put two miles on it. The same trip Saturday morning put 5 miles on the odo. As long as it is getting better I guess I don't have a problem. It just wasn't accurate at all the first couple of times I had it out. Its running better and smoother with less noise each time I take it out. Guess it just needed to break in a little bit. Hour meter shows 9.2 now. I let it idle quite a bit when its warming up.

Sounds like the speedo or speed sensor needs replacing.
