09' EFI running way rich!!....HELP!!!

just got an 09' Teryx into the dealership. This thing will start about twice, acts like it's running on 1 cyclinder, then you shut it off, and it won't start again until you pull the plugs and clean/replace them. The plugs are BLACK, and SOAKED...INSTANTLY....no matter what we do. we pull it out front during the day to display it, then can't get it starteded back up to put it away. Just wondered if any of you guys have had the same problem, or know of a way to make it run a little less rich?????? It's a new unit, so we can't modify it. I would take the air box lid off and S/A out if it were mine....but we can't.

0 hrs...1.2 miles

have tried to to a KDS on it...but Kaw hasen't updated the diagnostics on it yet, so it doesn't recognize the ECU

Holy bat guano! Now I am convinced I need to work on my own machines instead of letting someone else learn on mine.
I would hope to shout that Kawi would send factory techs around the country, or have a tech school location to send dealership techs to. We are still all learning how to tweak the 08, now the 09 FI will have another set of issues.

jeeeze....don't get scared guys...and give me a little credit here. Not like I am just coming here for help. We haven't tried to call Kawi (1) yet, (2) they don't send techs around the country, (3) training comes once a year, and even then it's like throwing you to the wolvesl

I just came here to see if other units were doing it? Similar poblems? Or maybe we just have a lemon.....so don't GEEK out just because I posted here. I just wanted other opinions

What the heck are you talking about? A Power commander will allow you to adjust the fuel on any and all levels.....

We have an '09 with 27 hours on it, & it runs flawlessly. Have no complaints or similar issues that you describe. Very happy that we waited around for it.

Don't take offense, but to me it just seems "odd" that a dealer would come to the internet & post a question to fix a problem rather than attempting to contact the mfg. first.

I am with HiDesertTeryx.

I have a 2009 LE with 10 hours on it that has zero problems. Glad that I waited for the 2009 version as well.
