Easy Fuel Sender install

Taking the gas tank out, draining the fuel and so forth is a lot of trouble. I came up with this and you don't have to remove the tank and the gas can stay in.

Get a hole saw the size you need for your sender, set the center drill bit just below the hole saw, start drilling into the top of the tank but don't let the drill bit or hole saw go all the way thru. When it is getting really close, stop then screw a screw into the drill bit hole, hold on it it then finish cutting the hole out with a utility knife.

Nothing falls into the tank. Set your sender down in the tank and use some wood screws to hold the sender.

Worked out great for me!!

I am still looking for a source for the sender and gauge. Asked once before but no response, More importantly for me would be finding the volt meter gauge I read about in the tech articals on the Hunter Works site, Any clues or info Todd?

If you do a search you can find the info. I used a hardin marine sender from cp performance along with autometer gauges. There are many tech articles with pictures on this I believe.

Grey Goose,

I use generic 2 1/16" gauges like Autometer from summit racing.

If you put a little vaseline or grease on the hole saw before you drill, it will grab all those little plastic fileings instead of them going in the gas tank. I would also hold a vacuum hose near the saw when drilling. Use stainless steel screws to hold the sender with some permatex gasket sealant (gasoline resistant) on the gasket and tank.
