Tool that tightens the frame inserts that your skid plate bolts go into

Finally had use of the illusive tool to tighten my skid plate bolt inserts while my Teryx was on the frame machine. This is all it takes guys, I was floored.

Not sure how much they cost, this one came off the Snap-On truck and was owned by the body shop owner. All my inserts are tight again, it took my buddy about 15 minutes to do them all.

I have one and I would tighten them, but my problem is getting the skid plates off, my 840 has Pro Armor plates and over 50% of the inserts spin. I drilled a hole for the oil drain because I dont think Ill ever get them off!!!!

Yeah, same problem here, I've got about six that just spin. That tool by itself lists for $68.60 on snap-ons site and the tool in a kit is $170.75, not too pricey, if I could figure a way to get the pan off, I'd invest in one of these.

All you have to do to get the ones that spin is have something on the top side of the plate pressing down putting pressure between that particular insert and the bolt, or somehow pry out on the skidplate from underneath to where it pulls on the gap between the bolt and the insert and the inserts will grab and you can get the bolt out.

Then use the tool to retighten the inserts. The body shop owner says those kind of inserts are considered pretty nice and he sees them on some vehicles, hence he had the tool.

I do have ONE insert that the tool would not fix and I would have had to remove, but where it is, no big deal.

My 08 Teryx was the first UTV the frame guy had ever done. It was quite a slow and tedious process to work on the frame. It is AMAZING how much the Teryx frame flexes with the roll cage off.

Magellan, I had'nt been following your posts to close after your little excursion, I take it that kawasaki does'nt offer the frame and you had to take it to a shop? Anyway, hope you and your teryx get healed up soon.
