How to work under the hood?

After I get my Teryx back from SDR I have a power steering unit from Hunter Works and HID factory replacement lights from Side X Side Customs already sitting here waiting for it. The way I remember it, the cage runs through two holes in the hood. How do I work under the hood? I hope I don't have to take off the whole four seater bed delete cage to get the hood off. I am picking it up the day before leaving for Glamis so I am going to be on a tight schedule to get this stuff installed.

My cage is stock, but I don't see how it'd be any different. There's a couple of screws on the sides, dash screws, & 2 screws on each headlight. Maybe 5 minutes work.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you will have to at least be able to lift the front part of the cage up in order to get under the hood for any work. Especially the lights, because you need to mount your ballast's. I mounted mine on a homemade plastic plate that sits above the top of the radiator and across the frame. It's a very clean and easy install for the plug in wiring.I have a 2 seater cage that has the 2 rear attachment in the bed and I can leave those attached and raise my cage enough to lift up the hood.

Stock cage doesn't attach to or behind the bed like a 4 seater cage will.

If you got an SDR cage you're screwed!!!!!!!NO Not because there is any thing wrong with the cage but SDR like most all aftermarket cage guys put in the horizontal brace at dash level or close to it, And I doubt you will be able to prop up the hood enough to comfortably install those items under there, cage removal is realisticaly the best way so as not to try and fudge it and scracth up a new cage or have it fall on you. Good luck.

The other thing to keep in mind is that most aftermarket cages have a lower crossmember from a-pillar to a-pillar. With that being said, you will NOT be able to slide the hood up on the cage. I am sorry my friend, however, the hood needs to come off when you install the power steering unit. You can install the HIDs though without removing the hood.

Wow that's awesome Tim. That will relieve me of a of stress when getting ready to go. Everybody I have dealt with in this Side X Side industry so far are the greatest guys. I haven't even had a chance to drive this thing yet and I am already glad I bought just for having had the chance to deal with you guys. I wish everybody was as cool as you guys. Tim, the first chance I have to bring it down there is Wednesday if that is not too late. Look forward to seeing you then.
