Gun case on Teryx.

I need some gun case/mounting ideas for the Teryx.

Years ago, I acquired a hard case Koplin gun case, that was mounted on a used Honda foreman I bought. Being a bowhunter, I took that off, and never really used, but now, using the Teryx with ranch activity, I like having a pistol and a rifle with me. Never know when a coyote of hog will show up.

Most of the time, a rifle is simply in a soft case, in the bed, but Id like to come up with an idea how to mount this Koplin hard case. I would like to put this at the back of the cage behind the driver....but the cross frame design has kept me from coming up with an idea how to mount it.

Anyone come up with good ideas for mounting items there? Or a good way to carry a rifle with the Teryx? I mention the Koplin hard case only because I already have it.

Kolpin Gun Boot mount

Hi,
You can get a Kolpin gun boot mount from Kolpin or several of the venders on this forum. It mounts to the cage behind the seats and the bed can still be raised. I had 2 Kolpin gun boots and mounted then with this system. Works fine!!!!

Use the links above, we can sell you one with no cases or just one.

Not sure I can afford it....but, what how much would the frame to hold just one Koplin case be? Also I notice on a goole search it mention the case being IV....I've had this case for a number of years, but looks new, and looks very similar to pics I've seen....but is there a difference in these cases that might cause a fit problem?

Kolpin gun boot mount

Hey,
I mounted 2 type 4 Kolpin gun boots on mine. I bought the boots in 2001 to use with my Kawasaki Mule, so they are older boots.
Hope this helps,
Bill

I think the whole system went up some but without boots it would be about $200.

I took the Kolpin off my old King Quad to use on the Teryx. Just went to Home Depot and bought some 3/16 x 3" steel and a couple of u-bolts. Clamped the 3/16 to the roll cage, marked and drilled for the u-bolts, then cut out for the carriage bolts that came with the Kolpin gun boot. Works great and cost me less then $40.00.

I guess because of the odd shape of the gun case, I assumed the case would twist installed that way. Is there a stand off bracket between the case and that 3 inch metal? Is your attachment point on the case those little oblong loops on the case? or are the carriage bolts thru the side of the case? Seeing your pics....I may have everything I need already in my little workshop, just didn't realize it could come together like that.

There isn't a standoff bracket moving the gun case away from the steel, but I did use the large factory Kolpin plastic spacers that came with the case. The carriage bolts go thru the spacers and then thru the gun case. Looking into the interior photo I posted you can see the u-bolts. The case is solid and doesn't flex anymore then it did on the King Quad. Used it this last deer season with a Remington 700 300 Win Mag in it ... no issues at all.
