Cvt Belt

What is the average amount of hours I should expect to get on a stock CVT belt?

I was in glamis this past weekend and mine broke and I only have 40hrs on the machine. Is there anything special about switching the belt other than it being a pain in the $$$? All I did was clean out the housing and put the new one on.

Another issue I had was that after switching out the belt the machine started overheating really easily. Did I miss something when taking everything apart?

Any suggestions would be very helpful!

There are a lot of factors that play in with the belts. Did you burn the belt at any time?

If you belt was loose (and I have heard several say they were from the factory) that could play a part in premature wearing.

A clutch kit will help with the engagement, however, you need to make sure you are in the proper gear when riding / crawling.

In regards to the excessive heat, not sure a belt change would effect that. -->

We need stronger belts

After putting on my Fundy Standard bore kit I have broke 2 belts with about 20 hours on them. Both times it was running flat out about 60 mph the first time on pavement and about 55 mph on the sand. Seems like it is the RPM doing mine in or just wear from the extra power and weight of the Teryx. The second time I had the Dalton Clutch kit installed so I'm not sure that helps that much.

I have been using Kawasaki belts. What is the strongest belt available?

08 Teryx Fundy Std Bore Kit, HMF Slip on Duals, Hunterworks carb kit and filter, CDI, 14" Bighorns with ITP 212 wheels, Renegade seats, 26x12x12 9 paddle Extremes and Douglas 10" Wheels, AMS Blacktail on stk Wheels, Radio, Mirror, Custom front bumper and 4 seat cage being built.

I think the EPI severe duty is the strongest.
