DOT approved Tires?

I am looking for a new set of tires that are DOT approved. I like the Truxxus or the swampers, but I see that they are bigger than the standard 26" tires. What will a bigger tire do to my top end speed? If I do the math it should increase my top end even though the speedo will be inaccurate. Does it work this way or not?

In theory it would if you have enough power to pull them.

We sell the interco super swampers in 14" only sold one set but the guy loves them. I don't think they are for me though.

Did he loose any top end, or what does he see as a top end now. Any way you could put me in touch with him.

Thanx,
Mark

I have the General Grabber AT2, the tread pattern is similar to the BFG TA. They work good for most of the stuff that I do (street and desert) but I can tell you that they are not good in the mud at all, the tread clogs with mud and they start to spin. However for the hard pack desert and for riding on the street they work great and are several pounds per tire less in weight that the interco super swampers.
