Rear Diff loose or banging?

When I'm in any gear and I'm putting along, if I let off the throttle and let back on it (like you inherently do with the lousy throttle pedal design) I hear a banging noise, almost as if the u-joints are broken. I took the covers off, test drove it and it's not the u-joints, it's not the shift linkange. I can see the driveshaft actually rotate maybe 15-20 degrees before I can feel the machine start moving forward, and *clank* goes the diff. Doesn't everyone else have this issue? If not, is there some issue with my rear diff? Can the diff be tightened up?

does it do it more than once and does it do it going from a dead stop.

That almost sounds like your rear axels.... the axel nuckles maybe starting to bind up and making a popping noise... i have had that happen before....just a suggestion

If I'm just trying to putt along and I'm right where I'm either on the throttle or off it, I can sometimes get into this "jitter" like motion where my foot hits the throttle and comes off it, hits it again, and comes off again, etc.
Then that rear end is just "klank, klank, klank, klank" with every on and off with the throttle.

Hate to say it, but it's something that most, if not all of them do. Go test a new one and I bet it does the same thing.

"Hate to say it" ? That's good news to me actaully. I was worried my rear end was having trouble.

I just think Kawi could do something different to remedy the noise.

Probably just gear lash and not much you can do about it.

I've heard about this pedal bounce talked about here a few times. I don't get it. Are you guys just keeping your foot floating in the air on the pedal? I keep my heel on the floor and press on the pedal with the upper part of my foot just like I do with any other car and I have never noticed any issues.

The noise is gear lash. Both my 08 and 09 are equally as bad.

The 09's have the same bouncy pedal as the 08's you need the extension and it is much more manageable.

I am going to shoot a video showing some loud lash today, as well as pointing out some of the differences/upgrades between the 08 and 09 Teryx's.

I do as well, and if you just lay into the throttle, you don't have the issue. But with the throttle pedal, the problem isn't that my heel is off the ground (god how would you handle the throttle without resting your foot on the ground?)
The problem is you can't rest the side of your foot against the tunnel like you would in a car. FST makes a nice pedal kit that extends the gas pedal over to the tunnel. I'ma fab one up myself.
I'm sorta glad to hear everyone else has the same gear lash noise. I figured that's what it was, but just wanted to make sure I'm not abnormal. Let's see those video Magellan!
