09 CVT Cover???

Anyone know anything about the specific differences between the 08 & 09 CVT covers? I foudn an article that noted the 09 had a "all new aluminum cvt cover that acts as a heat sink for better CVT Cooling"

Not sure about the cover ... but the breather duct off the 09 will go onto the 08 and is a pretty nice improvment. We just put one on a 2008. The 2009 duct dumps the air right on the pipes.

Yes it is better, much higher, it exits right behind the air intake and blows down on the exhaust.

todd, you are still talking about the exhuast tube ( as described on babbits). you know anything about the intake tube there in front of the shifter? suppose to have been enlarged and better functioning.

Yes, I am talking about the exhaust tube. I am not sure if the intake changed or not does not look like it but it could have.

Does the 09' have a filter on that intake? I thought I read somewhere(?) there was going to be a filter there...just curious?

No filter on the intake, it looks pretty similar to the 08 from what I remember.

I cannot tell any difference between the CVT covers, but I have never had them side by side off the machines.

The rear CVT outlet snorkel as Todd says is WAY better design. Now splashing through puddles is not going to get water into it like the 08.
