Junkie/FuelATV Progress Update

OK we picked up our first 3 prototypes of the bed delete kits last week & put them together over the weekend...

In case your wondering what comes with each kit? You will get complete hardware for assembly and mounting. All hardware will be stainless steel button heads and stainless steel nylock nuts. There will also be black plastic plugs to cover your mounting points (including 2 extra plugs because I know those things tend to get lost). Here's some preliminary pictures...

First the good news...the angled kit went together pretty good...here's some pictures of that kit...

Now the bad news...apparently transferring things from ACAD 2006 into Sketch Up and then back into ACAD...then over to Solid Works can result in some rather unfortunate results...and it didn't take long for them to start popping up...

These mounting point were all supposed to be 3/4" diameter and they were cut 3/4" radius...

And some minor tweaks like these...

So I basically threw $600 in metal down the drain...

But onward and upward...no use crying...we learned some pretty valuable lessons and caught some tweaks so it wasn't all bad...

And for those that have any interest in running without a tailgate? Here's a sneak preview of our billet mounts in 3D...this are not complete drawing but the billet mounts are already at DASA being programmed in...

I picked up the angled kit prototype last Friday (it was over a week late from the laser cutters...) and I put it together this evening...here's the pictures...

Except for some very MINOR adjustments it all lined up great...I will try to get over to DASA tomorrow and make sure everything lines up on the car...but it looks like the first kit is a go and I'm transferring all the info over to the standard bed kit next...

That is the original angle replacement...you will need at least a 4" LT kit to run that bed delete kit...
