Nessy Is Alive!!

Many people including myself have been chomping at the bit for the Dragonfire Racing production car "Nessy" to come out to the public. I'm here to tell you it's on the way. After a impressive win in 2009 Baja 500 I'm proud to tell you that we have finished the final design on the 2 seat chassis and 3 are being built as we speak, they will be available to the public shortly. The three in production will be almost a spitting image of the ground breaking car we have been running. I will keep you up to date on both the Forums and on Twitter (User name: DFRRACING) on any and all new info. The name came from the legendary creature of Loch Ness in Scotland which is very fitting considering this car is nothing short of a Monster. Keep an open eye and open ear because this car is going to change the face of UTV's forever.

They will come in so many different options that it is hard to say untill I get the official price list. They want to release dealer price at the same time so thats the hold up there but I will get the full price sheet up as soon as I get it.

This was built to match Bill Savages, Technical Director of SCORE, Standards. We have not done and FEA, Finite Element Analysis on the vehicle. Any Load testing for failure has been done through our desert and short course racing program, and over 18 years of Desert Racing experience. The car has been designed in solid works and we have one car built and has been racing since last November. Three new cars are in production. We took longer than expected do to many changes we made from the first car to the production version. We simplified the amount of tube bends and notches, made it a two seater, and changed the steering box. Every Tube comes pre bent and notched. Every part is a machined part, the arms are all laser cut and boxed. There is no fabrication in the production of this car. We have made it a big puzzle that we assemble. Final assembly of the car is done in our Mesa location. We were asked earlier who is making the car. The car was designed to be assembled. We have made the fixtures and tooling to mass produce not fabricate the car. Every tube has a part number, every piece of the car is replaceable. Each Part is put in the fixture and welded. Then everything else is bolted to the car. The tabs are even part of plate work we have laser cut.

That will depend on what all you get. I will try and get you a bare chassis weight. I'll let you know.

Here are some pictures of the fixture tables and laser cut arms, and parts for Nessie.
We will keep you updated on the progress. We will continue to post pictures each week.
The Fab shop is up and running. Nessie is starting to breath. We will be taking orders and publishing pricing by the end of August. First car will be at the sand show, and we have a customer that will be running the Baja 1000 in it with us.
