Legalizing a teryx in Texas?

Has anybody done this before?

So early this morning, at 3 or so, me and a buddy decide to go to jack in the box in town. Well after getting the food and on the way back home, I notice a cop hiding behind a building about 5 blocks behind us. Well we had been drinking a little before and once we see him turn his headlights on, we get daring and punch it, hoping to make it to a field that was about a 1/4 mile ahead. As you may assume, we didn't make it so I pull over and 2 officers get off and tell me that I'm probably in violation of about 7 laws which included: no registration, no insurance, no headlights, tail lights, seat belts that was it. I showed him I had insurance, I had tail lights, headlights, and he tells me he'll just get me for insurance and registration and he decides to follow me home instead of having it towed off. Now I want to legalize it to hopefully keep me from paying these tickets so if you have any info please let me know

You need an 840 kit to make it to the field first.
What would happen if you had off highway insurance and registration in your state.

Haha, yeah that's so true.
I guess if you had insurance and registration, you would just need the inspection. I've heard I could get away with just a SMV tag, I don't know I'm going to the court house tomorrow to talk to them about it and see what they say

Look at your title, in NC, it says not legal for highway use. Not sure if all of them say that or not, but I have been told there is no way to make it street legal for NC.

A buddy of mine legalized his Rhino here in Oklahoma. He had to get the turn signals, mirrors, horn, and street tires because the stock tires are not rated for highway use.

yeah let me know what you find out. I live in magnolia tx and the just made it legal to drive certain golf carts on certain streets but they also have to comply to there laws to this situation. I have heard of them being street legal some where in the US but cant remember where. It seems to me when you are out in what is called (out in the country) where the population is lower and where there are more cow farms and ranches and less cops you dont get jacked with or at least we havent yet. I ride on the roads in franklin tx and have had no problems YET!!

He used some flush mount turn signals and T/S relay and switches off his CBR (its a Stunt bike) like these:Honda CBR 600 F4 F4i LED Flush Mount Turn Signals RR:eBay Motors (item 180375864558 end time Jul-30-09 10:33:59 PDT)

For the Tires he has these DURO's
Duro Scorcher 25x10x12 | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

He brought it to the DMV, they checked out the machine and sent his title off to the state, They changed it to a street title and now he haves to tag it and insure it every year. IMO its not worth the money but i live in the country so i can drive on the street and the cops dont care, they told me not to speed or do any stunts and they wont bother me.

There is a guy from fort worth on the highlifter forum that said he legalized a rhino there.

I live outside the city limits and I ride it down all the FM and county roads without a problem, I've ran into sheriffs and state troopers and they just wave at me
