Why Just a "Half" Windshield?

Just curious if it's for cost savings or if it functions as well as a full shield.

I put on a full piece of lexan and I get a lot of debri and dust from the rear.
It just seems like it sucks it towards the cab.

Wondering if the half shield prevents this but also keeps the bugs out of my teeth!

the full shield keeps ALL the heat in, the half atleast let some air flow thru. It seems like all the 08 suck dirt like crazy from the rear. i added all the 09 flaps to prevent the dust from the rear, but not been out riding in the dirt enough to see if it really helps.

I was out wheelin last weekend. The conditions were very dry and very dusty. I'm running the half windshield, I'm also running a canvas full back with window and an aluminum roof. The half windshield does a good job of knocking some of the dust down (not all of it, I still ware goggles) and the full canvas back keeps the dust from doing the back-draft thing very well. We run in some tight woods and the half shield is nice to duck behind when running thru the tree branches etc. Hope this helps.

A full winshield is always dirty and seems to create more noise, heat, and dust swirling. The half windshield actually directs most oncoming debris away from you but you can still see thru it.

I have a full one on my Sport 09 and love it. If you ride in California, Arizona or any hot place 1/2 will be better but here in Canada you need to protect yourself from the rain and the cold that we have this summer.

I guess now my question for you guys with the half shield......

What's the height of the factory one? Do you wish it was a little taller or is it just right?

Thanks!

I like my half windshield, I raised it about 3 inches to avoid the vacuum it was creating. In the summertime, I take it off....and enjoy the bugs in my teeth...,

You know how those Indiana hot n humid summmer bugs are.
