water in my carb

hey everyone i recently had a problem with my. i just finished up puttin snorkels on it and extended all vaccum lines and i took it to my pond to test them out they worked fine but it died on me in the water. i pulled it back to my shop and began to tear it apart. i found water had gotten in my carb. i opened the drain and got alot of water out before fuel started comin out. pulled the intake pipe that mounts to the carbs off and found the clamps were a little bit loose. i extended all the lines on the carb to the level of my snorkels. where else could i have gotten water in my carbs from. my air cleaner box was dry. i got it running again i had to pour gas downinto the carbs to get it cranked the first time then it ran like ass for a little while. but now is cleared up. but if anyone has any ideas what else it could be i would sure appreciate your suggestions.

i had a similar problem, turned out my extended vent line got plugged and it was sucking in water through the drain.
