Holy Ridiculous

Even though this is a Teryx forum (and I'm a Teryx owner) I had to share. A guy on my street just finished his Rhino-R1 Engine conversion by Darkside Fabrication. Holy crap! This guy was popping wheelies at 20 mph with no problem. I chatted with him for a few when he asked if I wanted a ride. Hell no! I think it would have been impressive, but I wasn't real sure about jumping into a death machine with a driver I didn't know. Even though I'm not a Rhino fan ... I was impressed! Wonder how long until he smashes up.

Too bad they lose 4 wheel drive with that setup. Does it have reverse or is that gone, too?

It's been done may times, theres alot of videos on youtube with this. I am pretty big into the racing quads and theres alot of guys that have done the R1 conversion on their raptors........ yup they are crazy a$$ machines.

Is his 4 wheel still intact? I have never seen one in person but I think it would be an amazing setup in the 4wheel is intact.

After dumping oodles of cash on my quad I said I would never do it again, should have done an R6 swap instead, waaaayyy cheaper. I was wondering this about the Teryx. We are a 750cc with a CVT tranny, we could swap to a 800cc bombi or something out of a sled. Even drop a sled 2 stroker in there, would be fun and it is something I am going to look at once I actually have possesion of my teryx, another week or two away before I get down to pick it up.

It would be a sweet setup to be able to swap something in there and keep the 4X4

I didn't ask about reverse. It's going to be a dune machine, so with good paddles and all that HP, he won't need 4WD

You could even go with a ZX6, off the shelf nitrous and turbos for fairly cheap. I would just love to see a 2 stroker lol..

A blue smoker?

I hear ya on wanting to see a big 2-stroke conversion. I don't know if drivability would be that great, but it sure would be fun when it pulls into the power band. Off topic but i'm always amazed that sitting at Sand Mountain or Thunder ... the guys with Turbo raptors and R1 swapped quads are still getting beat by the big-dawg Banshees. So much money wrapped up in both setups it crazy.

Yeah some of those banshees are wild. I hear there is a place down in the states somewhere that will take 2 CR500 engines and machine the cases down to make a twin 1000cc 2 stroker for the banshee. 1000cc's of two stroke zip, all I can say is WOW!!!!

I am pushing 75 HP on pump fuel out of my Raptor 660 and there isn't much that can touch me around here unless they are jacked up on race fuel but in the dunes it's just average lol.

I guess we're rambling off Teryx topic, but oh well. There a shop down here called K&T Performance. They have a website. I know they have produced siamese cylinder setups with much success. They are also known for some of the sickest banshees around. They are 2-stroke specialists, but have started to dabble in turbo 4-stroke applications
