Question new hood mod....is it possible??

anybody ever think of modding a hood with a "scoop" of type that we can fasten with dzus fasteners that will allow for quick and easy removal? this would allow us access to the radiator fill, wiring....... without having to remove the hood. i have my hood cut on the sides for easier removal, but if i just want to fill the radiator, it is still a pain in the ass. maybe sand junkie could do some bitchin carbon fiber work on it too.... any ideas? has anyone done this sort of mod yet?

Maier plastics allow for that.

they dont the way the come from maier. you still have to go in and replace the hardware (not a big deal), but then not many guys want to spend the cash for a maier kit.

Which hardware? Dzus fasteners require a flat head or similar to remove, just like the Maier attachments.
I cant forsee a custom hood scoop being much cheaper than a maier hood.

How much is the maier hood? Can you install it on the stock fenders?

the center section usually goes for 100 bucks give or take.

unless they have changed the fasteners in the last 3 weeks, the the center maier section bolts on with like M5 bolts, washers, and lock nuts. not to say it couldn't be changed, was just stating it doesn't come from Maier in a quick release setup.

and no, the center hood will not fit on the stock fender/hood combo.

Not sure what bolts youre talking about. I just put a new Maier center section on (color change) a few weeks ago. It is completely held on by the plastic rivets. I could get to the radiator, HID conversion etc with that off.
My center section was 138 shipped for white carbon.
