What's your take of Viper Winches?

Viper Winches called me yesterday and wanted us to be one of the very few online dealers of Viper winches.

I have not heard anything bad about them and they are at a great price point.

I talked to them about backing the product up after the sale and they assured me they are like Hunterworks in that respect.

Can anyone give me some feedback either direction?

Also what rating in lbs is the most popular for UTV's

Thanks in advance Todd.

As I asked yesterday.
How many moving plastic parts are inside of a Viper winch vs say a Warn?

Viper's price is better.

I have seen several 4,500lbs ones around here, but Warn seems to be the standard others are judged against. Viper is gaining market share though.

Is the power drawn per lbs of pulling power similar or?

Viper, I believe, has no plastic parts at all unlike the warn wench. Viper will back there warranty unlike warn and you can't beat the price. They pull just as hard if not harder, but just don't move as fast. I use Viper and venom wenchs, both have done real well for me. Also, my dealer buddy cut his warn product line and only sales viper now, due warns durability/warranty issues.

4000lb to 4500lb you wouldn't want less on a utv

I have got the 4500 lb from Viper and am very happy with it. For the price difference up here it was a no brainer. I got the 4500 with snatch block, synthetic line cover etc for half the cost of a warn 4000lb. It is a great quality product in regards to the end user. If their product support is anything like the service I got upon purchasing mine and the quickness of the delivery I would say you can't go wrong. From date of purchase I think I had mine in 5 days which is amazing considering the border and customs it had to go through, they have all their ducks in a row when it comes to shipping!!

I have two and would definately buy again. Both are the 4500lb models that we upgraded to the synthetic rope. The only issue so far has been the contactor, but I had just as many problems with the warn contactors on my Polaris. For the difference in money I would definately go with the Viper. Aside from that, Motoalliance has some of the best customer service around, similar to yours Todd! Every time I have had to call they are ready to help any way they can. They replaced my contactor when it was about 20 days out of warranty without any problems. Warn, wouldn't even replace my contactor 30 days out of the box...

Warn just has a name, kinda like Purina. People buy what they know simply because of brand recognition. Never mind that there are products available that are as good as, if not better, they just buy for the "W" logo because they know it.

I have the Viper 4500# on mine and love it. The thing seems to pull hard. I have used it a lot playing in the river. For the money they can't be beat.

Spoke to Tim at Viper today and what great guy to deal with... We to are going to take them on as well. The reason is that most of my customers who have them have been very pleased with product and have had nothing bad to say about it...

On a side note call me I have a few questions for you.

Thanks

I ran a Viper winch in my 08 Teryx for a year with quite a bit of use and now I just installed today in my 09 a Viper Elite with synthetic option and wireless remote control. Install was easy and winch seems to work great. I did seal the contactor box better than it was at the seams with liquid electrical tape after cleaning with denatured alcohol first to keep any water out for when I SPLASH DOWN BABY. Will put it to the test at Windrock tomorrow with RustyB and let you know how it went.

A+ grade for Viper winches from my experience so far.
