modded teryx or prowler 1000?

i have an 08 teryx that has 2600 miles on it and i was debating on installing a 840 kit with extras ..exhaust..clutch kit and so on..somewhere around 3500 dollars to do what i need.or just selling the teryx and upgrading to the prowler 1000...it will be more expensive but have nice wheels//fuel guage..fuel injection...950 motor and so on.plus have a 2 year warranty with it.what do you guys think i should do.?even if i spend the money on the teryx..i will still have an 08 teryx and really lose my ass on it when i do sale it.whats a red 08 teryx with 4 year warranty and cdi and a speedo and full soft cab worth?red and never wrecked.

There is no question in my opinion. Keep the Teryx, the Prowler handles terrible and has reliability issues out the yeng yang!!

Axles, differentials so on.

Trust me, you have the better unit. A simple standard bore kit will make a TEryx smoke a Prowler.

The Prowlers are also prone to fires, weak shocks, and paint chipping around the tailgate. But these are just the main problems that you will have if you keep it down under 55mph, when you go above that for any length of time (a mile or more) the rear axles will pop out of the diff housing and leak oil over everything.

The Teryx just has the belt issue to worry about, oh wait you have an '08 so you also have the intake issue too

Standard bore would smoke a prowler and the 840 would just murder it... If you could drive an 840 one time you'd make your decision.

What all are you doing for 3500 out of curiosity?

we had one in camp this weekend. first it caught on fire, then he threw another axle. he hates the thing and said numerous times this weekend that he wishes he went the teryx option..... my 2 cents!

08 LE, DASA 840, Muzzys, CDI, Open Filter Carb setup, VFJ Stage 3, XMF LT w / WER shocks, XMF 2 seat radius cage, XMF bed delete kit and bumpers, Lowrance Baja 540c GPS, HID's, 14" MSA MCX tires on black MSA Diesels, Twisted Stitch Agressors w / XMF seat bases, and a whole bunch of other shit!

Don't forget the frame is a complete joke! Turn the steering wheel and the entire steering rack plate flexes...there is a reason AC's come with a tool kit.

I just recently bought a new 08. What issues are there with the belt and intake? Is this the only problems with the 08?

Buy the Phlenum rings. They are not expensive, easy to install and protect your motor from being dusted out with the carbs poping off. I think Snadjunkie made a video on the install. (not 100% sure though).
Hopefully someone posts the link for you.
Belts are often a bit loose from the factory. Just need to monitor and remove a shim when necessary.
