New Noise

I just got back from hunting at an altitude of about 6500 ft (1st time at that high) While I was there I encountered a high-pitched whistle every time I stopped in gear (either fwd or rev). I put it in neutral and it stopped. Heven't tried it here (Yuma, AZ - @320 ft) since I got back. Any clues?

Adjust your belt recently?

No, hasn't been checked in about 20 hrs. Wouldn't it slip when under a strain? Did a lot of slow crawling in mountains (semi-rocky and very steep at times) with no problems.

I'll have to check that out when I get home. So, if the belt needs to be adjusted/tightened would that be a good time to add a clutch kit or that a more in-depth job?

The high pitched whistle you hear is the belt being tight... Not out of adjustment tight how it supposed to be tight. Nothing to worry about and if the sound bothers you just put it in neutral which i recommend anyway on these bikes.

Thanks Shan. I was about to complain to my local dealer who checked that thing only 20 hours ago.
