Forward or Reverse Will Not Engage Upon Initial Start-up

I am having an issue for an 2008 Teryx that when I first start the vehicle and put it into gear it will not engage and go forward or reverse. Often times I have to either push or rock the vehicle and that seems to help. Once it gets going then the issue doesn't seem to be a problem. Anyone else experiencing this?

Explain a little better, is it grinding in or feel like it is binding not going in at all?

It doesn't seem to be binding at all.

How many miles/hours? Have you ever adjusted your belt?

I have replaced the belt once because I revved it too high once and it rubbed a spot in the belt. It was doing this before I ruined the first belt and it is now doing it after installing the second belt. It has less than 50 hrs on the unit. Thanks.

Does it need a shim taken out? Check belt deflection.

Maybe. I didn't do the belt so I'm not that familiar with the belt tension or configuration. I'll check it out. Thank you.

Ok if it is not binding what is stopping it from going into gear?

Is it grinding into gear?

Or you talking about a whole different thing where you have it in gear but it won't move cause the belt is slipping?

Correct, I am referring to it shifting into gear but the vehicle will not move. I assume it is because the belt is slipping? Not sure. However, it does physically shift into H, L or R as it should. Thanks.
