Viper winches?

I am thinking of putting a winch on my 08 Teryx. I thought about trying the Viper 5000 lb. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the Viper winches? What about Viper vrs. Warn? Also do I need a winch mount? It looks like I can bolt a winch on the pre drilled flat steel on the front of the machine. Keep em muddy and thanks>

viper winch

I have the viper 4000 lb Max winch with synthetic cable and it is unstoppable.
I've never had any issues with it, it pulls the Teryx out with ease.
the synthetic cable is a must have, it is easier on your hands and lighter, and you can fit more cable on the roll. And you only need a hawse fair lead.
The kit is a steal of deal with a line stopper, hook snatch block, cover, extra switch. at half the price of a warn.
and it also comes with a mounting plate

We have been selling them for about two months and no issues as of yet, did some checking around before we started selling them, got all positive comments.

Look hard at the 4500 it is the smallest Viper MAx winch with a mechanical brake.

yes you will need a mount too

I have a Viper 5000lbs on my 09 Teryx. I love it so far. I always had warn winches in the past and had good luck with them. I read good reviews on the Viper's and decided to give it a try. The sad part about the price is I can get 2 vipers for the price of a 3500lbs warn. The Vipers look very well built. Of coarse only time will tell.

I have a question however. how do you get the rubber stopper over the cable?

Later.

I put the rubber stopper in a vice and squeezed it to open the hole and then you can put it through.

I used denatured alcohol to lube it up temporarily, it is the same effect as dish soap.

The vice idea is pretty good, I never thought of that.

My Viper is working great.

if a winch label 5000lbs,,that is mean ,the max pulling is 5000lbs for the winch, if you buy a 8000lbs winch and it work at 5000lbs,,will perfect. for a winch motor,,the wound series motor is better,
