water temp guage ??????

For all of you running a temp guage, please let me know what temps you are seeing on your guage and where your temp sensor is located on you teryx. I bought a lovorski marine guage with the black rhino sensor kit that is to be installed on the upper hose where the water is flowing from the motor(which means the water has been through the motor and has gotten hot and is going to the radiator to get cooled). I would think this would be the hottest area the water temp would be and that after it travels through radiator it cools down, then enters the motor at a cooler temp to cool the motor and as it travels through it gradually gets hotter. My temp guage says 240 and the fan kicks on and it goes to 230 and fan goes off. The dash guage never flashes telling me it is hot. I do not believe the motor is hot , but do think the water is finally that hot once it gets to the radiator. With all that being said i was wondering where others sensors are because i think if i had my sensor in the motor i would see cooler temps on the guage. So many people are posting temps of 190 up to 210. When i run down the street and it is 55 degress outside it goes down to 210. I have a stock 09 teryx with muzzy pipe as far as engine mods and have just order the impellar from hunterworks to help in cooling. Sorry for such a long post. Thanks for all support.

my sensor is installed on the lower hose coming out of the radiator. i like that location because my temp guage corresponds with the thermostat and when the fan kicks on. the fan always kicks on at 180-185 and my car never gets over 205-210 even on the long hard dune runs... i do run the engine ice coolant too. i have the dynoray impeller that i have yet to install...

08 LE, DASA 840, Muzzys, CDI, Open Filter Carb setup, VFJ Stage 3, XMF LT w / WER shocks, XMF 2 seat radius cage, XMF bed delete kit and bumpers, Lowrance Baja 540c GPS, HID's, 14" MSA MCX tires on black MSA Diesels, Twisted Stitch Agressors w / XMF seat bases, and a whole bunch of other shit!

Oh and my motor is all stock except a uni air filter.

I am running with a PWR rad. larger fan and impeller. Temp never go's over 200. Sensor is placed at engine and fan turns on at 180 which is the temp it always runs at. If I had it all over to do again I would have installed it at the rad hose. The fan is cooling the rad when the engine is off so the fan runs longer then I like as the engine temp is not really dropping. I wait a couple minutes, start up again give it a few revs which cools engine down to 160 just to get the fant to turn off. Kind of a pain, will probably install a fan on off switch............................Implellers are the hot tip, kind of thinking I never needed the larger rad.

I installed my temp sender in upper hose at the radiator. It runs at 190 to 200 and engine is stock. I run trails and in the desert. My gauge is from the local auto parts store and works fine. Oh I also run the water wet in the coolant.

Try wiring the fan to the ignition. If it was only powered when the ignition was on, you would still get the fan to run at the cooler temp and when the engine is off the fan would not run excessively.
