Unhappy lurching at low speeds

I have 18 hours and 150 miles on my new 09 Teryx. At low speeds, say from 8 to 15 mph, the Teryx lurches like the accelerator is being slightly pushed in and out. This seems worse when slow going down hill or on trails such as those with loose dirt and leafs. On hard roads it doesn't do it! Also, the motor seems rough at low speeds and when I accelerate sharply it smooths out and goes like a bat out of hell (which is great). I'd appreciate some advice because I'm taking it in for the first service soon and would like tell them what might be wrong.

Could be your foot on the pedal? There is nothing to rest your foot on and will make slow going jerky.

lurching at low speeds

Thanks Todd for the advice. I had already put some non-skid rubber on the accelator pedal. Gusess I need to add a gizmo to keep my heel in place too. I'll try it. By the way I love the windshield I got from you. A great product at a fair price. Jim

Finn , I'm sorry I don't have a picture to show you , but I mounted a square U-bolt through my floor in front of the pedal . All you do is rest your foot on it and roll your toes onto the pedal. Works well so far. I found the U-bolt at Lowes in the electrical Dept. Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice. Again, you guys were right on target. I welded up a gadget today that bolts to the floorboard and provides a shallow heel cup to keep my foot in place. That, plus the non-slip rubber on the gas pedal, cured the lurching issue. Took the Teryx on a 20 mile run today and it worked fine. Seems the slight movement of my foot was the culprit all along! I have to admit I feel pretty stupid not to have figured it out on my own.

If the ticking sound is what I think you mean , we all have that . Other posts on here have said it is gear lash making the noise .
