Pretty much bolt in and plug in a 12 year old kid could do it

John, That was a quick reply you gave. I'm thinking you are right about a 12 yr old being able to do it-most of them have grown up with computers, etc & are quite proficient with this sort of thing. It's the feeble old farts like me that would probably have the problem. Do you know about how much they cost & what additional info they provide as opposed to the 3 idiot lites on the base model?

Thumbs up

Turtle, there are several posts on this site about the guage install, I posted some pictures on how to hold up the hood and how the unit plugs in. Johnny had pics of the plug and how its hidden in a little black bag behind the dash. It is a very simple install but as I said in my previous post, make sure that you squeeze the black clips that hold the dash screws because they will move or fall off and will cost you more time getting them back in place............Have fun

Thanks, I think I remember seeing that the trickiest part was in figuring out the best way to secure the hood in the upright position & believe you said using a tie down strap connected to the cage was the simplest. Also, as I recall the OEM provides speedometer, trip odometer, clock & several other info items such as 4WD, Park (for brake on), gear selection & temp. I'll have to decide if I really want all the info or not for the $100 or so expenditure. Thanks, I'll check your post(s) on this item.

You mean $200 expenditure. Hardest part is getting all the damn screws out that hold the hood down.
I really did not look at it closely when I bought to realize that you have to take the cage off to get the hood off. WTF ! But with my street legal hear in AZ I wanted to have the speedo and it looks nice. I
did not look at the trailtech vapor before buying, that is nice looking too.
