belt adjust tools

I wondering if anyone can tell me what tools are needed to adjust my belt. The kawi manual shows a whole bunch of tools are needed but I'm curious if i really need all those tools. Any help would be great.

Depends on whether you use air tools or not.

They use a clutch holder and a belt deflection measuring stick or whatever they call it. I would use something around my own shop.

You will need the primary sheave removal tool and the secondary spring tool.

Both are available at our place.

Todd

The shims are already there, you will be removing them in size according to how bad your belt is worn.

So Todd if I am understanding you correctly, as the belt loosens or wears you will remove shims (which you will want to keep in a safe spot) When you replace the belt, you will likely add the previously removed shims since the belt will not be worn, thus making it tighter.

Correct, the shims are on the secondary sheave and when you remove them the two halves sqeeze together more on the belt pushing it back up the sheave. When you put a new belt on you put back the sheave shim(s).
