any one use a gopro hd?

I have a gopro hd on the way that will be here tomorrow. I have sony vegas pro 9 and 10 so I think I will be ok editing the HD but how does the file size stuff come into play?

in you make a 4-5 min videos in 720p how big is the video normally when it renders?

my old video set up was done on a mini dv tape and I still have all the rides on tapes stored away, but I am taking it if you have a 16-32gb card for a ride then do people edit a video and get rid of the footage after that instead of holding on to it?

and last, I always went through my footage and captured just what I wanted to use then import that in to a editing software, but from what I read people copy it all to a folder then import it in but is there a way just to cut it down to what I want to use? thanks for any help.

I was looking at the 960 version for about half the price of the 1080 as most people seemto film in 720 anyways.

i have a go pro hd. doug is right about the filming in 720p. i film in 720p 60 fps. that will allow me to do slow motion video in hd quality. rendering video depends alot on what kind of computer and what resources your computer has available. i render and edit video on a mac. i just imported a 15 minute hd video that took about 20 minutes to pull into my editing program. that was just to get me ready to render or export the movie. if i import a 1gb movie then export as an .mov to upload to youtube, i am looking at about an hour - hour and a half to complete the process. then the upload time depends on your internet connections... here is a quick unedited video that i uploaded... love this camera angle!!!!

yeah I was looking into these too and that seems to be the problem with the 960 version, you can't film 720 at 60fps. The 960 does 720 at 30fps.
