destroyed belt

spent 6 days at the dunes up here in oregon last week and the only thing that broke on the teryx was the belt. it may have been the low range wheelies in the parking lot or maybe it was hitting the whoop roads at 40mph not sure but it went big time at 37hrs on the machine, must have broke it into a dozen pieces or more. the funco lt kit is super smooth in the whoops, did bottom it a few times jumping it and hitting some stuff a little too fast but it worked excellent. 840 ran perfect! hope someone has a belt that will last a little longer. owned a rhino for 4 1/2 years and never had to replace a belt, of course it never ran like my teryx! how many others are killing these belts?

Trust me on this one please....it's very important to adjust the belt at about the 20-25 hr mark the first time, it stretches and becomes loose, remove the thinnest shim in the rear secondary and make sure it is on the tight side of spec which is 22mm with a flat edge on the belt between the two clutches, the 200 hr check is routine checks AFTER the first service, the manual doesn't spec this first service but it has to be done, then every 150-200hrs after that.......

Who is your belt made by? Have you tested it versus the factory belt? Everything I have read has indicated that the factory belt is the one to use. Thoughts?

with our testing that we have done, with our clutch kit (springs and weights) the we supply the best belt for the kit. It is rated for 125 HP, it is 8 ply kevlar constrution. Hooks up great! As far as testing against the factory belt, we were pushing this thing HARD, and exploded the factory belt. we havent had an issue with the extreme duty belts. Not to say that we wont, its just that we havent. All belts wear out and ALOT of it is driver error when it comes to Premature wear. If any of you have been an avide snowmobiler, you know how to drive a CVT Properly. Not saying the others dont, but alot of people forget that there is a LOW Gear. Use it when you are going slow or technical and you will keep the belt alive ALOT longer.
