Need Advice, Engine Issues

I have a stock 08 Teryx that has had issues with oil consumption and loss of compression/starting issues. It is in the shop getting the top end off for diagnostic. Got a call saying they removed the front cylinder and found the valves pretty well sunk into the heads and that the rod bearings are bad. I know enough that this is not good. What are my options? They said the are going to have to yank the motor and split the bottom end.

What can I expect to need to have done? I originally was hoping to only have to replace the piston/rings? Then what do you think a fair estimate would be?
I will know more Monday when they pull the rear cylinder. I just would like to speak intelligently and have an idea when I go.

Thanks in advance to your responses.

Is it under warranty? If not, get perfmance parts put in.
Do you have plenum rings? Was it dusted out?

Not under warranty, unless it transfers to second owner. Do you have suggestion on what performance parts I should look into? Im not sure exactly to what im going to need to replace. The plenum rings were set tight, however it did stop running in the dunes if thats what you mean by being dusted out.
Is that what would casue bad rod bearings. I was looking at wiesco pistons, hoping that the oil consumption was due to bad rings. Thanks

Rod bearings are not going to go bad without hurting the crank.

I would get one of the local shops to rebuild it for you and at least put a standard bore it in it with higher compression and a pair of cams and valve springs, labor and parts will be cheaper than a dealership and you will have a lot more hp.
