I know your gonna have a hard time believe this but just ignore that alignment.

When you get it all together, you only need to worry about cam to piston timing.

Bunches of builds this way.

Wink question

Hi I am new here looking for some info. I am timing the cam on my 08 teryx and am a little confused. I have read several places that you need to put the back cam in first and turn 290 degress and install the front cam. If you look throught the peep hole to time, then you will see a F and a R mark. I am not sure why lining these up when timing the cams wouldn't work without a problem regaurdless of which cam goes in first. I did take hunterworks advise and put it back together not worrying about the timing marks on the gears, just the cam to piston timing but it is out of time. Any help?

Yes read the manual. The next step will be to time everything according to the manual unless I get any useful tips here...

IT matters.

put flywheel on TR mark, put rear cam in with arrow up and hash marks at 9 and 3, turn engine clockwise using the nut on the flywheel 270 degrees or until you see the TF mark then install the front cam same way. FYI, clockwise is turning the engine backwards, not that, that matters.

Trust me this is the #1 issue on a build even after all I have done I double and triple check this.

It is sooooo easy to get one cam 180 degrees out, it will run too but like crap.

Todd
