HELP with unisteer

HELP, I'm in bad shape. I am trying in vain to take out the steering shaft out of a 2010 Teryx to install the unisteer electric steering. I have followed the instruction to the letter, I have watched it done on U-tube, but the dang thing would give. I have taken the one bolt out under the steering whell I have loosened the other bolt, the streering wheels moves up and down NOW WHAT. I have beaten it with a long bar and hammer, no help, I have done everything I can think of short of cutting the shaft into. HELP someone tell me what to do.--Larry

Just wanted you all to know, I GOT IT OUT!!!!!!! I went to the search pages and found someone had the same problem. I just loosed that top bolt more and it almost fell out. With the 2010 I did not have to take off the hood. Just wanted to share that with you all. I hope this thing is worth all this expense and trouble.

Teryx = $10,000.00
Unistear = $1000.00
Getting outsmarted by a 10 cent bolt and then overcoming adversity = Priceless

Don't worry the price and trouble are well worth it. Power steering upgrade is one of the best mod's you can do.

Hi guys: Sorry I didn't see the sticky for the very question I asked. But wanted to report my project to you. I did overcome those bolts, and they are not easy especially if your hand size is extra large. But I did finally get it all installed and wired up. You are going to get a kick out of this, I feel so stupid!! Got it all installed and wired up and hit the key to check it out and go the read light on all the time. I called the company who ask what the code read. back into the house to reread the instructions on how to access the code. As it turned out the code was blinking out a code of 45. I called the 800 number for Unisteer and the tech said the code was saying the motor was bad which they said was highly unusual. Which to me meant right on par for me. I was going to have to completely uninstall the complete thing and send it back. After what is called an Advil day installing this unit, the thoughts of taking it all back out was mind numbing to me. Have any of you done this, your laying in bed with this problem on your mind and like a bolt of lightning it hits you. In the instructions I saw two connectors plugged into the CDI box and I only remember plugging in one. I jump out of bed ran to the garage, At first I did not see it then I saw this blue wire stuck behind and under the unit. There it was another housing. Plugged it in and turned the key on and after first coming on the light went out. It was wonderful and blissful to say the lease. Just told the wife I fixed it no use going into details to her, but this is my confession board. Just wanted you to know. it works and seems OK not like power steering, but we will see how it works on the tight trails.

Too funny! I can relate to this so well. Glad you figured it out before dis-assembly. Let us know how it handles on the trails.

I wanted to report my experience with the new steering. It is without a doubt the best add on I have added to date. I can't put it into words that would explain just how good it is. I ride in the back hills of Ky, logging trails, steep uphill with loose rocks, fast sweepers, deep drop offs and so far it has worked flawlessly. Just wanted you all to know.
