lots of smoke

Well my friend and i went out for a ride in our teryxs and his teryx started to blow alot of smoke outta the front cylinder, (he has the dragonfire exhaust thats how we know its the front) and his temp light came on and started to flash.Just wondering if anybody has any idea what happend the exhaust smells like oil is burning.Heard anything from blown head gasket and fried rings and it had just gone in for its 20 hr service.

This sounds slightly different from the oil getting blown back in the intake from the blow by pipe.

Tell him to crank it back up and run it a few minutes and see if it clears out, if not it is something more serious.

ya we did that and itll barely run now it pops and still blows tons of smoke outta that pipe.
we took it to the dealership to see whats wrong with it as soon as we hear whats wrong ill let you guys know

btw the dealership also jetted it and it still pops when he gets on it and lets off of it the took it back at the 20 hr svc and they were supposed to rejet it to get it to stop popping could they have misjetted it and leaned it out too much and burn a hole in the piston

IF it was the blow by it will clear out in about five minutes or so of running. Look in the air plenum and air box for oil.

Doesn't sound good...sounds like you might have bad rings on your front piston. How low was the oil in the case? Any chance you pulled the header off the front to see if there was oil in it?

Even with an air leak, have you checked your airbox on the smoking machine to make sure it is not a high fill level oil burning off by way of the intake and carbs?

I have oil in the airbox vids in my youtube link in my signature. Do you think this could be the issue?

Well, they already had 20 hours on it and no problems, until dealer did service (?) That would make me think dealer over filled oil also. Naturally the first piston is going to get the (first) overflow, if that is the case. Check your level, let us know so we can all help each other out here.

I talked with my friend last night. He said that they couldn't find anything wrong with the motor i told him to ask the dealer if they found oil in the airbox.

So the first piston would get the oil if they over filled the oil huh? Wouldnt it be sent to both at the same time?

I guess I did not say that correctly, maybe should have said "the first carb" would get the most oil in it, oil overflow is in the front of airbox. Yes it would receive the most oil because of location.
