BBK reliability

On the fence about installing a fst std bore or the 840.. I would love to have the extra power of the 840 just worried about heat or reliability. I ride fast trails, and a litte mud in the hills of kentucky..any help would be appreciated...thanks

Go ahead and do it, i don't think the weather in your state is hotter than the weather over here in my country.

The STD bore kit rocks and never had the overtemp LCD on so far. Great power.

I've talked to plenty of people running the bbk in my area and even with 115 to 120 temps nobody has had any problems yet other than doing something stipid and running the wrong gas

I know of only one guy having problems over heating but it's not one of my kits and he is running a aftermarket Rad. There are well over 200 840 kits out there with no problems what so ever.

So all you need with a big block kit is the factory radiator?

Are some after market rads rip offs?

Are some truly higher capacity?

It looks like there's room for a radiator with a larger front area, but this would require revised plastic shrouds.

The stock one works best.

pwr makes a good aluminum radiator but there is no way that you'll need it unless you do the 1000 turbo setup that 4stroke tech was workin on but you still don't have to have it. If I ran the 1000 it would be more like insurance than anything else
