Thinking of a big performance upgrade

Well guys I need some advise here. Currently I have the usual upgrades of dalton clutch, hunterworks carb kit, dynatek prog. Cdi. And soon to be muzzy, od plate and possibily coil kit.

I am starting to look at doing a big bore kit or a high comp kit. My question is how is everyones relability been with going internal in the engine. Which one is the best one to look at? I have always been under the impression that once u go internal you start to have issues. Also I can't seem to find much info on the diff manufactures websites.

I keep looking at 100 to 150 per hp might as well do 1500 for 30 hp

What things have you guys broken because the extra power.

After many years of riding a Honda 250r 2 stroke quad I am lackin in power.

After showin the misses the video on youtube of dragonfire's Baha test at 75 I have her intrested. Funny thing is that initally the teryx was suppose to be for her. But after driving it she is now the passanger :-)

How many hrs have you put on it since the 840? What octane to you need to run?

I also have the Four Stroke Tech (FST) 840 kit in my teryx. I have about 20 hours on it so far with no issues at all. In fact my fan runs less on my 840 teryx than it does on my stock teryx. You can run 92-93 octane all day long also on his kits. The 840 makes the teryx so much fun to drive vs. a stocker, I havent been in my stocker for three months (thats how long ive had the 840)!!

Did you do your own install or did you have it done? Are you still using the stock carb's?

how are the axles holding up under the added power? and if anyone rides in the woods, i would prefer to hear you answer as opposed to the duners.

Bigger tires affect diffs and axles the most.
If you are keeping the stock exhaust, remove the restrictive stock tip and replace with the better flowing $40 one.

No need to purchase the aftermarket tip for the Teryx unless you like how it looks/sounds. The $40 billet tip doesn't add any power, just remove the stock spark arrestor, and since you are already planning on upgrading to a Muzzy's in the near future, probably better off to just save the $40.

I went with a Fundy Standard bore kit. When I was breaking it in I ran three long hard pulls up a hill gradually increasing rpm until I maxed out on rpm and speedo was bumping 62 mph. After making the runs I opening it up to full throttle quickly going uphill on a paved road and the belt snapped completely in two. I had about 40 hrs on the belt. I went to a mud bog event and dirt drags that weekend and everything held up. Beat 3 razrs in the drags, one having a pipe and chip. I thinks you will have to get into a bind in some rocks to break axles. I have done some climbing and smoked the belt before breaking anything.

08 Teryx Fundy Std Bore Kit, HMF Slip on Duals, Hunterworks carb kit and filter, CDI, 14" Bighorns with ITP 212 wheels, Renegade seats, 26x12x12 9 paddle Extremes and Douglas 10" Wheels, AMS Blacktail on stk Wheels, Radio, Mirror, Custom front bumper and 4 seat cage being built.

I bought it with the 840 kit installed, however it was just that installed, I had to jet it, do the clutch work and fine tune it. Yes I am running the stock carbs.

Im from the mountains of PA, all i do is aggressive trail ride, so far no axle problems.
