CDI's ... How much faster than stock ?

I know a dynatech or a vdi doesn't cost much, but in real world terms what are we talking about ? If it's 3 hp at 8000 rpm that doesn't really help me because I never get to 8000 rpm. Now if it's 5 or 10 hp at 5000 rpm thats great. Or is the big benefit the elimination of the rev limiter and not so much horsepower or torque?

So I can understand, who knows the following answer.

In a drag race dynatech vs stock (endcap removed) What is the difference?
0 -20mph no difference?_____ carlength??? ____ 2 carlengths???______________
0 -40mph " " "" " "
1/8th mile ?
1/4 mile ?

Thanks
This website is great....
